Interesting Football Video

This is an interesting video I found about a footballer management company called Footballer Direct. They represent aspiring footballers who want to turn pro. They have a platform on which footballers can sign up and start their football career.

Child Modelling

Modelling is extremely competitive, especially child modelling. There are so many cute kids out there vying for the same spot, it is hard to know who to choose. Set yourself apart by having a committed parent to take you to auditions, protect you in situations you are not comfortable with and find you the right child modelling agency for you. You need to invest time and effort into perfecting your poses and stances and for that you need the right team around you and lots of dedication.

Child modelling can be very lucrative and so make sure the client is happy and you are memorable. Initially most of the models feel shy from the camera but the professional photographers from the agency bring out the best of your personality and make you pose in different styles which become your selling point. Be flexible and try different things. Networking with people in the industry will help make you stand out as the next fresh face and help you begin your modelling life. Getting into modelling becomes easier when you are with an experienced child modelling agency as they guide you in the right manner and bring the best in you.

Watch this video about Models Direct:

The modelling portfolio taken by your modelling agency would help you in assessing your strength and weakness which would prepare you for getting into modelling. They will also show this to their clients to help you get jobs. These shouldn’t be airbrushed or digitally manipulated. When you want to be a model, it is not necessary that you would always be receiving positive results, you may get criticism but use it to improve yourself.

Top Models Turns Actors

Top Models Turns Actors

Every so often individuals decide to break free from the confines of modelling and transformed their status with surprising results. Here is a run-down of the most successful models turned actors and actresses. Here we celebrate the fact that these individuals have been blessed not only with staggering beauty but exceptional acting and performing talent management.

Although these are success stories, making it in modelling is hard enough without the transition. After all, it is whole different skill set. Aspiring actors like Giselle looking ridiculous in Taxi learnt the hard way that looking pretty and acting isn’t necessarily the same thing.

The aforementioned atrocities are all but instantly forgettable, yet there have been some notable exceptions. A glance at recent Oscar winners and nominees would surprise a few to see how many began their careers on the catwalk or modelling on the pages of teen magazines.

Famke Jansen

Famke, the X-Men star started her career as an Yves Saint Laurent model before her memorable role in Golden Eye. The transition was almost seamless and we were endowed with one of the most memorable Bond girls/villains in recent memory. Clearly she has made the right move.

Cameron Diaz

Diaz was already a professional teen model, with teen modelling jobs for Calvin Klein and Levi’s before she hit the big time with films like The Mask and There's Something about Mary. Since then she has done an awful film called the Counsellor in which she kills everyone. You leave the cinema feeling just ‘bad’.

Angelina Jolie

Admittedly she was a model for all of fifteen minutes but Jolie still counts. She has since teamed up with Brad Pit to create Brangelina, the celebrity power couple, and has looked awesome as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider.

Kim Basinger

Kim is a sexy screen siren from the 80’s. This Academy Award Winning actress started her life as a shampoo ad model, she’s certainly come a long way since her teen modelling days.

Milla Jovovich

Acting in the Fifth Element opposite Bruce Willis, and her ability to kick ass in Resident Evil established her as a household name.

Mark Wahlberg

The only male model we could think of that made a successful transition. The former Calvin Klein model has come a long way since his rapping Marky Mark days. Mark even had the time to do a stint in jail, busy man.

Charlize Theron

Both incredibly talented and beautiful. Some people have all the luck. Scary in the film monster, ditching her good looks for good acting.

Halle Berry

Halle used to be Miss Teen All America 1985. Now the Catwoman is now a sex symbol and Academy Award Winning Actress. Inspirational!

Modelling Advice

What is the Difference between a Modelling Agent and Modelling Manager?

Model agents, managers and the roles that they play in your career can be confusing. You know you have what it takes to be a model, but what about a team to guide you through the industry and get you those jobs. Networking and making friends is one thing, but what about a manager, or an agent?
Many beginning and experienced models think that model managers and model agents are one in the same. While they do share some of the same responsibilities, their primary roles are very different. Let's take a look.

Managers

Modelling managers do not arrange auditions. They provide guidance and direction for their female models to help them become successful in the industry. Model managers act as an intermediary between models and all the other industry people i.e. agents, attorneys and the press. It is the responsibility of the model manager to assist in the development of the models career in the modelling industry. Starting out, you do not need a manager and you should never sign your life away to anyone.

Model managers are not subject to any regulations set forth by the modelling industry so you must be very careful when selecting one represent you. You have to trust them completely so make sure you are not exploited.  Find out how much experience they have, who they have represented, and what type of models they represent. What are their success stories?
The benefits of working with a model manager are that you will have access to industry professionals that you would not otherwise have. If you are a new or un-signed female model, a model manager will help you get signed to an agency, for a fee or percentage.

Model Agents

The model agent, working for a modelling agency is the individual that gets the model work. Model agents receive casting notices from various clients. It is their job to put you up for the best auditions for you. They are essential, and most major advertisers will not work with models unless they have an agent.
A good model agency takes an interest in their models, and spends the majority of their time securing auditions and negotiating deals their behalf.

The responsibilities of model managers and model agents can be complex and may overlap in some instances. Just be sure to remember that a model agent's primary responsibility is getting you work. A model manager is not responsible for obtaining work for you. Rather, the model manager's role is to advance your overall career. Model managers focus on managing the business activities on behalf of the model and work with the modelling agency. This should free you up to focus on what’s important, the camera.
